Carlota Amargós is the founder of Amrita Cacao, a heart-led project born in ceremony from her deep connection with cacao as a plant that brings people together and supports meaningful, intentional living. Her journey weaves together the sensitivity of a classical violinist, the creativity of a chef, and the purpose-driven path of a cacao entrepreneur.
Having trained and performed as a violinist, Carlota developed a strong sense of presence, harmony, and emotional depth, qualities that she continues to pour into her work today. Her path later led to the culinary arts, being the head chef of Amara Valley retreat centre in Spain, where she explored living food as a form of nourishment, expression, and care.
Through Amrita Cacao, she shares ceremonial-grade cacao sourced ethically from El Salvador, working closely with producers and honouring the traditions and integrity behind each step. Carlota’s mission is to offer cacao with transparency, respect, and a sense of connection from origin to cup.
Marc Torrano is the person behind the scenes of Amrita, making sure everything works on the administrative side, the production, sales and shippings. He is a passionate cacao entrepreneur and the founder of The Cacao Society, a project born from curiosity and a deep respect for the cacao plant. His work centers around connecting people with the richness of cacao through curated tastings, bean-to-bar chocolate experiences, and handcrafted ceremonial tools. As part of his journey, Marc collaborates with Amrita Cacao, aligning with its vision of honouring cacao as sacred, ethical, and heart-opening. He is also involved with the International Institute of Chocolate and Cacao Tasting, the Bean to Bar Chocolate Association of Spain, and Casa Cacao – El Celler de Can Roca, contributing to a growing global movement of integrity and reverence in cacao culture.
Salome is the hands and heart that turns Amrita Cacao into a reality for all of us. Working alongside "El Club del Chocolate", she turns the untouched Cacao beans into the medicine that we all love. Raised between farmland and dance, with a farmer for a father and a dance teacher for a mother. These roots continue to shape her work today. To her, Cacao is much more than an ingredient. She cares deeply about where it comes from, the soil that nurtures it, and the people who cultivate it. Working together with Academia Mexicana del Cacao, and the farmers has been extremely valuable to gain the understanding to honour the process of making Cacao. Her intention: to allow the cacao to tell its own story. Salome is also a heartfelt intuitive dancer since birth and she started teaching at the age of 15. Dance is how she expresses, connects, and shares. Cacao and dance are two forms of expression through which she feels different types of connection.
Aina discovered the beautiful energy of cacao years ago and was immediately captivated by its heart-opening effect on both body and soul. Since the birth of Amrita Cacao, she has walked alongside Carlota as the brand’s designer, bringing its vision to life through her art. Deeply inspired by Amrita’s coherence, care, and meaning, Aina channels these values into every piece she creates. Her role is to translate the essence of cacao into visual form, giving shape, colour, and imagery to the rituals, respect for the Earth, and the human stories woven into the heart of the work.
